About Course

This course introduces students to PTC Creo, a widely used parametric 3D CAD platform for mechanical design, product development, and engineering documentation. Students will learn to build feature-based 3D models, manage design intent through parametric relationships, and generate detailed technical drawings suitable for manufacturing.

What Will You Learn?

  • Students will be able to independently design parts and assemblies, produce manufacturing-ready drawings, and prepare models for downstream CAM programming.

Course Content

Sketcher fundamentals and geometric constraints

Part modeling: extrude, revolve, sweep, blend, and pattern features

Assembly design: component placement, constraints, and interference checking

Engineering drawings: dimensioning, tolerancing, and GD&T basics

Sheet metal design

Parametric relations and family tables for part variants

Exporting models for CAM/CNC workflows (STEP, IGES, Parasolid)
